WHAT! WOW! I Made it FIRST! —- Monday, October 19, 2020

As you know I love to feed the little wild creatures

fun little snacks they would never ever get

unless someone goes to the grocery store and buys them.

Usually,

it goes down like this —Stanely or Stewart or someone

from the Vacuum Cleaner family shows up—Cute little furry rodents with darling little faces

Sometimes, but not always, the Quail get there and can snarf up the remaining bits leaving a clean plate for everyone else.

But yesterday, the little chipmunk made it up there before everyone else.Β  He/she stood and his/her mouth flew open as is to say: WOW!

It was a perfect treat for Chipmunk and a perfect treat for me!

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

  1. I’ve got a couple chipmunks who come for peanuts and corn. They will sit and call (they sound like a loud bird chirping) to let me know they want their goodies and are very friendly. One will sit on my foot if I’m outside. There are a couple gray squirrels who turn up too and sit on the porch rail to ask for food. One of them is surprisingly friendly and likes to come and sit near me when I’m outside. I just sit very quietly while they’re around. With the chilly, wet weather we’re having right now the chippers are staying in their dens with their well filled larders and the squirrels in their dreys. I appreciate their visits and their company, they are interesting little critters.

    • You are a soul after my heart. I feel the same way. Although, my little creatures are not very tame I still enjoy them. I have two ground squirrels who hang out in my wood pile and they get great food also! πŸ™‚
