Remember this?
Three times a day—once in the morning
Two times in the afternoon
We cut
Split
Stack
Cut
Haul from the pile to the pile
It’s starting to go down.
And we have help!
(2/3s to go. A little bit every day. Until done.)
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Good exercise, keeps you busy. I constantly monitor Craiglist for free firewood.

We just bought a bobcat load so we don’t have to worry. Good luck with your hunt for free.

Always. Although, Terry is saying we have now reached an age where this work is way too much. So next we might have to have it delivered already cut. Costs a lot more, but helps with the old body.

Stay warm and safe out there on the farm we will do the same up here in New England.

I hope the snow holds off for a spell. I would like to get this pile cut, hauled and stacked…then it CAN SNOW!

The nice thing about firewood is that it warms you at least twice. I like your helper.

Wow, great work. No need for the gym for you.😊 An old friend of mine says that firewood warms you twice – once while chopping and secondly in the fireplace.

So true…and loading..loading and unloading is pretty sweat producing. 🙂

We used to cut in the forest for free firewood every year. I think the permit from the US Forest service was 20 dollars all the dead stuff you could cut. We just sold our wood splitter as we are too old for all that hauling and we lost our helper, too.

We did the forest this year $50 for 7 cord. It was way too much work for us…we got 3 cord and Terry said…we will order a semi-load and be done with this.

Wow …. what a huge job Linda. Do you finally get enough firewood cut and stacked so you can make it thru the rest of the winter, and have a little break from the cutting and stacking?

We will try to get it all done by the end of this month. We want it out of the way before the snow comes (or gets too deep) and gone because it’s residing where we stack hay in the summer 🙂
