“The voyage of discovery consists not of seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”–Marcel Proust
I have a snake (water snake) who lives in the hen house with the hens. Randomly we (snake and I) scare each other.
Why would you tolerate a snake in the hen house, you ask?
This is why.
Snakes love to eat mice!
Way to go, Snake!

In Australia, people often tolerate carpet pythons for the same reason, but ideally don’t let them get too large; they’re constrictors, and the big ones can manage a whole chicken if it’s not too large!

WOW! I let them live but I know others who chop them to death the second they see any kind of snake.

Lol, works for me. I like snakes but they still make me jump when I come upon them unexpectedly. Instinctive I think.

They make me jump also. But I like that they eat mice.
