Finally, helped thin the smoke
Lifting the thick and heavy layers
Allowing more air to circulate
While somewhere else the embers
Keep sending sparks and fire onto ravaged earth and into the sky.
My prayers are with everyone. I am so sorry this is happening.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Yeah. I’m so sorry for those affected. Terrible. Forest fires are not something that I ever recall hitting our area…at least, not in my lifetime. Ken stated that he remembered some fires in our Appalachian Mountains area but, it’s been some time ago. It wasn’t too long ago that the Gatlinburg area in TN was burned badly. Ken also said that the Piedmont can get brush fires but, I’ve never seen any.

I think I saw that there are some fires in Tennessee right now, but I could be wrong.

I’ll take your word for it. I’d have to look that up.

At least the wind is stirring. Maybe in some way it will help extinguish those sparks. It is so very sad.

So glad you got a breeze, hope it blows the smoke away for good:) We are ok for the moment but that is subject to change.

They are saying that it should blow out of here tomorrow…I hope so.

You all need to wear masks when you are outside. Not the kind that protect other people, but the kind that protect your lungs. You can use the surgical masks but turn the darker blue side to your face. and change every day or more often if it’s bad. You also need an air purifier for the house. We had smoke here for weeks last year, and it is a real health hazard. So sorry you are getting California’s smoke. I don’t understand why we don’t have better fire fighting capacity! Whole towns are burning here.
Take care and be careful.

Thank you, Kate. We use the Air purifiers in the house, thanks to your suggestion. And facemasks outside ….can’t breathe sometimes. I feel so bad for all those people.
