The little hummers are still filtering through
They don’t stay long…just spend time to fill up then they are GONE
Oh, gosh! I say to them….Hurry, Hurry a big freeze will soon be coming and you don’t want to be here when it happens.
Fingers crossed I don’t have any more come through.Ā Which means they have finally made it through our part of the world to someplace else much warmer.

Me too…but I don’t want them caught here without flowers to feed on.

I took down my feeder, but I still have blooming flowers if some stragglers come through. It has been at least two weeks since I saw one.

I still have a few hummers, not many anymore

Someone just told me today that here in Wisconsin we should take down the feeders in early September to encourage the hummers to move on before it gets too late.

I’m saying the same thing to the few monarchs I’m seeing pass through. Sigh…

I saw three Monarchs this last week…which is HUGE for us.

That is a great photo of the hummingbirds. I only see one at a time here and it doesn’t even sit still to drink at my feeder. I took a bunch of shots one day and all I came up with were blurs. One year one would come and drink and then sit in the Redbud in the back yard. I did get several nice shots then. I think there are more here because I can fill the feeder and for a few days it looks like nothing has drank. Then, all of a sudden in one day, it is empty. We have Monarch here throughout the summer but I have never seen a caterpillar even though there are plenty of milkweeds. There aren’t as many Monarchs as in the past, though. Thanks for sharing!

It’s hard to get a photo of them flying…for me it’s always just luck when that happens.
