It’s with great sadness I see the swallows are starting to gather
This will go on for several days. The coming together and gathering.
Then, when the newly hatched are strong enough. They will lift up as one.
And leave.
I have only seen them lift off and leave once in my life.
It was unique and precious and very exhilarating.
What a fragile gift our birds are to us.

Here too. There is some fun in it for me though, as this is my last chance to get the swallow species I have missed so far this year. Currently looking for Bank Swallows and Purple Martins. Nice photos!

I’ve never seen them leave. Just one day I notice they’re gone. 😦

One time only did I get to see them leave. It was awe inspiring.

Is it the normal time or a tad early? I hate to see them fly off too. I’ve notice a reduction in the number of hummers at the glowers and feeder ~ I know it’s “instinct” when they migrate, but it is early for the hummers.

It’s seems to be early for all the summer birds. The Robins left in late July instead of the middle of August. 😦

I saw a flock of geese yesterday. Seems early, but they were here.
