Goodness, this month seems to be flying by.
Anyway, I wanted to show what those pesty deer do to the corn—
Yep! They eat the silks off and the tip of the corn. It’s so yummy for the deer’s tummy.
Ruins the corn…it won’t continue to develop. Sigh
And those delightfully cute, but so damaging raccoons and
Skunks—
They like to tear the stalks down and THEN eat the corn!
Critters. Gotta love ’em, but sure don’t like some of their dining habits.

You need Shannon’s dogs on patrol at night.

Shannon only has an old black lab. She can hardly walk.

I know…roses get the brunt of their habits.

It is amazing the harm wild mammals can do. They did an awful job on our garden this summer, although lately they have left it pretty much alone. Sorry about your corn.

Deer are especially destructive…we have something digging at night for grubs…coon or a stinky skunk I think.

Those two are pretty destructive also. Happy Birthday, Connie!

Do they go very far into the corn or just eat along the edges?

Both. The rac’s stay on the edge and then the deer nibble everywhere and make homes in the middle.
