Winter is Whispering in the Wind—-Monday, October 16, 2023

It froze last night and

the night before

There are some blooms that have missed the killing frost

Those who succumbed are resting now

Waiting for Spring.

Winter is whispering in the wind…there is snow on the mountains surrounding us

For a few more days, possibly weeks, we will walk in the realm of the dying, the sacred ground of summer past.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

  1. Linda, you write poetry. Trust a certified, old-dragon, English teacher, with 35 years experience, that you are writing beautiful POETRY. Collect a few of your posts and see if they are also poetry. What a glorious find for a Monday morning when the world is not happy!

  2. We haven’t had an “F” yet and none in the forecast. Maybe we can get through October without one which would be nice. It has gotten down to 36° F during the night a couple of times at night. The daytime temps have been nice but a little breezy. Like you said, winter is whispering in the wind…

  3. I love the way you write here 💕 Your words draw the reader right into your beautiful world and there’s such a real sense of experiencing that moment in real time, like stepping through the blog into your world!

  4. Last night was the last of the fall flowers here…except maybe the blanket flowers up against the Wool House with the earliest morning sun hitting them. Sigh…
