The corn is drying down.  Gradually, gradually.

It’s not there yet.  One field is starting to show the most signs of drying, but not totally.

So we wait. Waiting is okay.  It’s a wee break in farming.  🙂

  1. Well, if you are laying pipe in some of the ditches, looks like you guys are planning on farming again next year.

    Years ago, in the late 70’s, I had a father in law who had a farm in Iowa. He grew seed corn and beans. Went back a couple times when he was harvesting the seed corn and got to drive a 3 row corn picker. What a thrill. I had to concentrate to keep the snouts of the picker between the rows, but it was really neat to chug along for while and have a full wagon of ears behind you

    Never was back when they picked the beans, so the box for driving a combine still needs to be checked off. The farm is long gone so probably never will get to do that.
