Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it’s off to work I go!

Snow and more snow

That is ice you see on the road.

The cows even think it is cold.

Coming soon to a calendar near you!
FIVE MORE DAYS!
THEN the days start to grow longer!
YEAH!!!!
The wind blew in a horrible cold snap….40 degrees at the beginning of the day, then a rapid drop to 16, with lots of wind and some snow.

This morning, when I went to do the chores, it was 7 degrees. Then when I went to work it was 6 degrees. Snow is predicated for this afternoon 5-6 inches by nightfall.
Ugh! I drove in on ice and it looks like I will be driving home on ice and in snow!
Some of you have it worse though, so I shall not complain (too much).

He said he wanted to watch the TV from our bedroom (the door opens into the living room) so I said okay. When I went to check on him this is what I found.
He is such a beautiful little boy.

Where we are going to pick up the combine, the canal still has enough water for the ducks to swim and play. But it won’t be long now that the canals in all of Grand Junction, Clifton, Fruita, and Loma will stand dry, waiting for the dams to open next spring.

And when I go to work and when I come home from work I always meet AT LEAST one of these!

Good Night, My Friend.

Actually I’m ready for the Winter Solstice when the days start getting longer. I am a lover of daylight, and find winter’s long nights S.A.D.

Kath and Daryl http://hafdozenreasons.blogspot.com/ stopped by on their way home to South Dakota, and I must say what a great time we had.
Terry took us to the Black Canyon; then they came and looked over the farm and the farm equipment.
Terry got to ride in the semi and I got take a peak inside the home-away-from-home a long-distance trucker has.
How much fun to get to meet face to face with friends we have made through this amazing blogging world!
If any of you are coming our way, please stop and visit.
Where we live I can walk right out of the corrals and take photos of some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Colorado

Grand Mesa, the largest flat top mountain in the world, to the north of us

Green Mountain

Ragged Mountains

Paonia Mountains, with the Saddle Mountain in the foreground

Gunnison Mountain Range

San Juan Mountain Range
And to the west of us is the Uncompahgre Plateau, 25 Mesa, which I have shown you in other posts. There you go, north, east, south and west, around our little farm.

Terry is after a little bit bigger combine, which is diesel powered! He has now found just the right one! If everything goes right Saturday we will be the new owners of ‘new to us’ combine.

Bladen and Linkin got to ride in the Parade of Lights. When they saw me they yelled “Hi, Grammy!”

Although wasn’t green, red worked well also!
