In the Early Morning, While Changing Water —- Sunday, June 14, 2026

From my archives

Boo Berry and I were up at the Headgate checking for trash, sticks, and weeds trapped in the scary head gate.

Nothing there.  Good

Off we headed back to the Y in the ditch; we were bringing the water down to the new alfalfa field

When I found this feather.  All beat up and trapped in a clump of grass.

(This from my archives)  I am thinking it just might be a hawk’s feather.   We seem to hear a pair of them talking as they wing through the air—the sound echoing softly down through the living air.

It was a gift—

A true gift.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

After the Rain — Tuesday, June 29, 2021

The world smells clean, fresh, intoxicating

The flowers seem polished; brighter

Although the ‘before’ wind was a tad hard of nests—Sigh.

Still, it feels like the world is whistling a jolly

And rather charming tune

What a wonderful World!

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

Spider Web and the Feather

A very busy little spider created a very sturdy, but gossamer web next to the sidewalk.  Some bird, flying over-head and in no particular notion to shed a feather, did so anyway.

The feather drifted slowly down, through the Rio Grande Cottonwood branches and came to a stop in the home of the spider.

And me….

I saw it and took a photo!
