After a wonderful weekend full of family
We had 4-wheeler rides, trips to town, walks on the farm
There were games with Grandpa (they are playing catch the airplane here) and visits with school friends and lots and lots of food.
Sunday they went home.
Today farming started. Terry hooked up the disk and is (even as I write) disking up all the uneaten corn stalks and the giant cow patties.
We have two weeks before the water is turned on. Everything must be done and ready for the first water.
Here we are in another push, but steady is as steady does, so I know we will make it!
Thanks for stopping by. I’ve been really remiss about not getting my comments answered and around visiting your blogs, but I can now get back into a routine.
Routines are always good!
Your friend,
Linda

Ahhh so much fun having the family there and just hard to believe farming starts already isn’t it! Although you two NEVER sit still!

I guess you will have to give up your winter life of lying on the couch and eating bonbons all day. hehe

I’m glad you had a nice weekend with your family before the farming starts in earnest. I hope you get everything needed done before the water is turned on.

Me too…it’s always a huge push this time of year. Once everything is in the ground and up, the last cultivation is done, then all we have is the irrigation. Until harvest, that is.

Farming is one of those vocations where the turn of the season is clear in everything you do. Spring is coming, time to wake up the fields and make them clean and pretty for planting…

We planted a little today. Just plants that enjoy the cold if we get a late frost.
God bless you both!

a good weekend was had by all and now the work carries on…and on..and on… I think farmer people are wonderful in that they have more energy and certainly get up and go…as well as doing volunteer dog walking….

I had to stop my other volunteer job at the Historical Society they needed much more of my time than I had to give. So now it’s just home, both homes, and farm and yard and walking the dogs! 🙂

Lovely pictures. Life does take precedence over blogging sometimes.
