Yesterday we helped our daughter and son-in-law, in Grand Junction, Colorado load up some of their stuff to move to Delta–home for Kimberly and back to Delta County, for Cliff.
Terry made this trailer years ago to haul bulls, cows, and pigs. It has also hauled furniture to Denver, back from Denver, to Grand Junction, and now back from Grand Junction.
(I must brag a little bit here—my man is sure talented! If he needs it, or wants it, he figures out a way to make it. 💕 💕 💕–how lucky I am!)
We were fortunate to move them in-between storms. We’ve been having lots and lots of thunder and rain storms. It sure has been nice for the yard. A welcome gift for the plants and for me!
The tomatoes and peppers are coming on strong now. It’s canning time! My pears are ripening in big, thick, warm blankets then it will be time to ‘put them up’.
We are still working on the firewood, although the pile is MUCH smaller. Maybe this week we will finish it. I sure hope so. I’m a tad wore out. We are taking off today and maybe Monday, maybe not Monday, we will see.
I hope your Labor Day weekend is a good one!
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Labor Day! That’s why we worked so hard these past 4 days…. Ours is at a different time of year. Oh, and that’s an amazing trailer, and how handy for a house move!

Low to the ground so it’s easy to load things into.

Ah, I would love to be moving from Grand Junction to Delta. I’m going to drive through Delta next weekend on the way to Grand Junction and then the return to New Mexico where I’m working over a couple of weeks. I love Western Colorado.

Terry is a true Renaissance man. Did I spell that right?

Yes. His mother was just as gifted. If she saw a dress in an expensive dress shop she would come home and make the same dress WITHOUT a pattern. Me. I don’t have that ability.

Terry’s trailer sure comes in handy when it comes to helping children move back home (not quite as joyous when helping them move away). I hope both of you can take it easy this Labor Day weekend.

We are working on it. Lots of naps in-between irrigation! I hope you and Betsy have a nice weekend, George.

Will having them nearby give you some help on the farm? My son and his girlfriend moved in with me this spring and I’ve really appreciated their help.

No. They both have very good but time consuming jobs. It will just be nice they in Delta. Although, Grand Junction was only 1 hour away.

Or start the next one WHILE you are still in the middle of two or three! 🙂

My brother had a similar trailer in Germany. They come in handy and I think every farmer has one.

You are very lucky indeed! If I was closer, I’d make this Flourless Chocolate Cake with Spiced Pears for you and Terry… But instead I’ll send you the recipe.
Thinking of you both on this beautiful Labor Day weekend!!! Have a great one!

We’ve decided to take off the whole week (with the wood pile). We are all way too tired and Terry wants to pull the beans.

Our son in law moved us with his trailer a few times. The last time he was coming down our street to load our stuff and the kids on the street were running on the side walk yelling ‘I think he has a pony in there’, they were super excited until they saw him bac in and it was empty.

I’ll bet they would have LOVED having a pony in the neighborhood!!!

From one farmer to another – my farmer says that trailer is a work of art.

Good to have your daughter closer! That is a great trailer. I hope we don’t ever have to move,,,we have too much “stuff”.

A handy husband with the talent to think things through is a great asset in life. To appreciate him is even better. So many don’t let them know how much they are appreciated. I’ll bet he knows he has a treasure in you as well.

It would be nice if I could ‘create’ stuff, but I can’t.

They will stay in their jobs they already have with the Department of Corrections and CDOT.
