We took our daily run through the cows (a tad chilly, it is out there)

cuteWe saw 25 visible calves

grayWhich means there are quarter of the calves born

And probably more

newBecause Mom’s hide out their little ones.  And if the cow is having her baby she often time will hide herself.

white-on-white-on-whiteSo for right now…there are 25 visible calves on the ground!

  1. I always love seeing new calves in the spring. Our neighbor who also has a big cow and hay outfit still has his mamma cows and calves out on the desert wintering grounds. They won’t come home until the grass is up…..and right now there is just snow all over. I hope the sand hill cranes find enough food, everything is pretty much frozen.

    • We milked for years and years and years. We always raised our own beef and just stopped raising cows about 6 years ago. I do miss them. Although, I don’t miss the twice a day milking. 🙂
