Like the wind rushing musically throughout the drying corn
The weather held, turning into bright October days, full of sunlight
Harvested, delivered and sold! First paycheck of the year! (Besides the hay, that is)
YAY!
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

How very satisfying that must be.

That must be so satisfying. Congratulations! And I’m remembering there was a conversation at the start of the season about whether to go for another cycle of crops!

I think this is the last year…two young men have come to see if they can rent the ground.

Breathing a sigh of relief, I’m sure! Still waiting here too, for the corn and beans to dry down for combining.

We are lucky we are done…it’s snowing and raining here. Some of our neighbor’s still have crops on the ground. Our corn should be ready in November.

oh so glad you got those beans in (and that check deposited ;>) before Winter set in. (I saw the post above … and it made me want to go get a sweater even though it is still quite summer-like here in Oregon).

Gosh…I miss summer. Although, we do have a nice fire in the fireplace, which helps!
