Terry took a corn sample down to the Elevator this morning to have moisture checked
It came in at 13%
So we began {again}.
Although the sky was an amazing blue, the air was extremely frigid…a sharp, very sharp wind was blowing, but in the combine…it was toasty warm.
But I’m here to tell you, driving the tractor was a tad cold. Two coats and a hoodie and I forgot my gloves…go figure!
🙂
Your friend on a western Colorado Farm,
Linda

I’ll bet you’ll remember your gloves the next time! But I am happy that you could harvest your corn.

Corn to the elevator is a very good thing! Cold while harvesting… not so much. Hope you are taking a lot of in by the wood stove breaks 🙂
Happy Harvest!

I can do cold hands, but I can’t live with a draft down my neck. That sleeve looks nice and cosy!

The sleeve is nice, I just needed some gloves!!!

Oh my, cold hands are the worst! I’m glad you were able to get going again. 13% sounds really nice and dry! What % do they like to see? Here, if it’s over 15.5% we get docked.

15% and if it is over that they won’t take it. 😦

Oh wow, so no wonder you have to wait!! They will take it here, but dock us for drying. Hopefully it’s going well!

Hooray you’re at it again! Hope it goes quickly so you can be done and out of the cold temps and wind. We have the same weather here as you…but we don’t have to spend a lot of time outside! Good luck to you both in getting the corn all done!
