The Adventures of Boomer on Friday— I Had the Best Time

“Boomer!” Mom called. “Come here, Boomie, Let’s go for a ride.”

With that Mom picked me up and put in the back of Dad’s BIG PICK-UP!

That means we are going on a LONG, wonderful ride!

I scooted over to the big rug Mom put down just for me to sit on and gave a happy wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwoooo!

Then we were off!

Way, way off….first it was so hot I thought I would pant myself to death, then we were

There!

In the mountains where the air was cool and the smells were new.

Dad stopped and Mom and I got out and walked here and there and everywhere.  I sniffed and sniffed and sniffed.

Lots of mice.  Even lotser more chipmunks, no squirrels but big fat Whistle Pigs that Whistled at me than ran off.

Lots and lots and lots of peopley smells.  I snuffed on by those I can get peopley smells; creatures of the forest I can’t get.

Then it was time to head on home.  We stopped at a fruit stand where I met LUCY.  Lucy was a big, sweet, kind dog.  We got along really well.

Back in the pick-up and we headed home…it got hotter and hotter.

Whew!

I was glad to get home.

Ahhhhhhhhh.  Inside where the sleeping is good.

The Air and Sky Around the House is Silent—Thursday, September 5, 2019

(From Pinterest)

They have flown…

Yesterday morning, after the sky warmed; they all gathered in a huge bunch

And —-left!

I will miss them.

I tried to make the most of the time they were with us, for I knew they would not always be here.

Good-bye, my little friends.  Our house and buildings will be waiting here for your return next Spring.

BUT WAIT!!!!

The passer-throughs- are here!  YAY!  I still get to have swallows on the wires and singing in the air.

So, although, they won’t be here long, I will have a few each day for a wee spell.

AND THAT! My Friends makes all the difference!

From my world to your heart,

A Gentle Little Creature —- Wednesday, September 4, 2019

(From Pinterest, once more:) )

Boomer and decided to travel over to the other side of the farm, well not the whole side of the farm, just to equipment areas, where (YES, I feed the little creatures)

Off we went!

I let Boomer off then sat myself down to wait

I had a short spell of waiting before the squirrel showed up.

Then I heard the sweetest voice

A darling little bird chased away the squirrel.  I know not what this bird is, but I feel delighted to have two photos of this charming creature.

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

That Thread that Binds—Tuesday, September 3, 2019

(Stolen from Pinterest)

Out wandering around in the yard

My attention was drawn to a little honeybee

Loading herself down with pollen!   Buzzing loudly like she was delighted and happy to be alive!

We should all experience such joy!

The Spirits Ride the Evening Sky — Monday, September, 2019

(from Pinterest)

Tangled there among the leaves

A tiny sliver of the moon emerged

Grabbing my camera I walked out from the surrounding buildings

So I could share, with the living noises of the farm, the small chitter of the little birds as they settled for the night, a dog’s bark from over the mesa on the flatlands, and the rush of water flowing through the ditches—-

You see I wanted to connect with the spirits of the animals, the water, the plants growing and maturing on the land

But most of all I wanted to experience the murmuring of the moon

As the daylight faded and the evening light held it’s breath; before the stars started to sing.

From my world to your heart,

A Prayer without an Ending or a Beginning—Sunday, September 1, 2019

I seemed to have reached a point of ‘understanding’ in my life

I think it is the place we (as humans) have always meant to be

Where we finally realize…just like we ‘knew’ when we freshly arrived into this world of ours

That each day gives you meaning.  You need to do more than exist, to never take fortune (luck) for granted

That our lives, each and every one of us, is the prayer — the consequence of being alive

Then by the time elderly age is a reality, the human mind realizes the profoundly magical is made up of the very glorious ordinary moments of a very common day.

Once that is understood, the elderly feel like being — grand, extraordinary, marvelous, terrific, wonderful, tremendous, open to experiences and the excitement of being alive!
