My Nighttime Dreams—Thursday, July 30 2020

Sometimes sleeping at night is hard

Not only not being able to sleep

But sleeping and dreaming with ‘bad’ dreams

Other times, it’s like I am walking with those who have passed before me

Those marvelous people of my past life

My parents and grandparents

My beautiful and marvelous sister-of-my-heart, Dixie

Haunting dreams

Causing me to wake; to feel fragile and uncertain

Most often I wake and can’t remember my dreams

I just know I dreamed,

Not all dreams are scary, threatening, or nostalgic

They are comforting and familiar

Warm and protective

Those are hard to recall, also.

So, I have decided those dreams,

Those glowing, comforting misty dreams

Which [the feeling] tends to stay with me all through the day

Are sent to me [us] from our dead family and friends

To protect us

And those still with us on the earth

Connecting with us through our dreams.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Well-Come Summer Days and Summer Work —- Thursday, July 2, 2020

Here we are, the start of July — a time to me as a time of pleasure-

Next week will be the second cutting of the First field of alfalfa—the air will be full of that indescribable sweetness of green

We’ve been cutting brush…a tiny victory which has no truce—seems there are always ‘brush’ to trim ūüôā

The corn is growing and growing—

Terry is standing on top of the ditch bank the cornfield is lower than the farm road

Summer is such a favorite time of the  year, for me

Time of heat, color, and joyful little birds

Moving on through the farm

The pastures are looking good, rich, green, lush

No way can I stand on the ditch like Terry…I would fall in!

Summer, when the sun starts moving back toward winter

But, everything else, myself included

Continues to dream-walk through the warmth, the heat, and the beauty of Summer

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

(Stolen from Pinterest)

Out wandering around in the yard

My attention was drawn to a little honeybee

Loading herself down with pollen!   Buzzing loudly like she was delighted and happy to be alive!

We should all experience such joy!

From my heart to your world,

Linda

The Summer Solstice —-Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Clemitas

“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. ¬†THe sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.”—Maud Hart Lovelace, Betsy-Tracy and TIb

Cultivating-CornIt has been hot here. ¬†Very hot! ¬†The thermometer read 106* yesterday around four o’clock in the afternoon. ¬†And supposed to be even warmer today.

Pink-Lilies

I love the heat! ¬†Yes! ¬†Really I do. ¬†Although…. walking outside is like pushing aside those heavy curtains on stages…the ones usually made of red velvet with gold trim.

Pink-HollyhocksThe air is perfumed with the incense of rose.

Good-Morning-SunshineThis morning sunrise is a visible promise of more sun-heated shadows under trees and along buildings.

Set-of-LastAs the sun set, last night, the birds and insects started falling silent—until it was

Last-Set

just us, Terry, Boomer and I–the running water, the cooling earth

Strawberry-Moon

And the Strawberry Moon.

From my world to your heart,

Linda
