Sometimes my mind likes to race toward the future…not that I LIKE to race toward the future,
But my mind sure does.
And it (my mind) seems to leap and tear around mercilessly
At night when I’m supposed to be sleeping.
The thoughts dipping and spreading slowly, at first, then by three in the morning
Rushing here there and everywhere
Sliding around in the old head like oil spilling out of a tipped over can
Everything always looks so much better in the morning.
For then you have understanding, there are no borders; wandering thoughts can’t survive…action takes the place of worry.
From my world to your heart,
Linda
You did a great job describing the racing mind on some nights.

I so agree, the haunting bogeymen of nighttime tend to fade right away…or at least become more manageable…in the bright light of morning. Maybe it’s the coffee. lol

“Action takes the place of worry”. So true. Doing is such a remedy for fretting.

Nighttime thought ramblings can be tiresome. So much to fret about in the world.

Fret is the word…really exhausting. I’m always glad when daylight comes.

Oh Linda…welcome to my world! Since my surgery in late October, I have many nights where I lay there waiting to fall asleep and don’t…and at 3 am there I am…. still awake. Ugh. Thankfully they’re not happening as often as they did…but still they happen. I’ll think of you and all those who have mentioned they have sleep problems, the next time I’m laying awake in the dark listening to my husband sleep. Take care. Hope you sleep well tonight!

When I wake up during the night I pray…that usually calms me down enough to go back to sleep. Hope you find something that helps you because coping on little sleep is no fun.

I like to pray also. And get up and read…or go for a walk with the animals.
