While, out-and-about, looking for things to photograph

I had one of these,

Startle and fly into the air.
I scared the pheasant, but I must admit, it also scared me!

Gradually, breathing again, the land, the pheasant and I returned to normal.

They can give you a heart attack when they fly up from under your feet. It’s especially bad when they’re nesting, and fly off the nest at the last moment! But what a great shot, he looks as if he’s on fire!

It was a trigger-finger moment. I didn’t even see what I got on the camera until later! Heart-thumping moment.

We love pheasants. The local game farm used to release many of them on our land every October. We used to have one that would come up to our back door and tap on it for us to throw out corn! We have a great up-close picture of that crazy bugger! π
