Boomer, my Darling little Beagle

Passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

As Terry and I were digging his resting spot, I dug up a rock.  When I looked in my shovel I saw it was a heart.

Laugh if you must, but I feel it is a gift from the earth and from Boomer to me.

Run free my baby Boomer.

From my heart to your world,

  2. Ah Linda, it was his time, but all too soon for you. I’m so sorry you’ve lost your beloved companion and faithful friend and shadow. That heart rock was definitely his message to you: “All is well, I’ve gone ahead to check things out and wait for you”.

  3. I’m so sorry. I feel like I’m losing my own friend. I’m sure Fuzzy was waiting on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge for his old pal Boomer for some new adventures.

  4. I am so sorry to read about Boomer. I haven’t been reading your blog for very long, but I came to care a lot about him, as I’m sure other followers have as well. Peace be with you and your family. What a game little dog!

  5. So sorry to hear of Boomers passing, we will miss hearing from him and about him, but know that you will miss him most. Hugs and prayers for peace and comfort.

  6. RIP, little buddy. You loved well and were well-loved by many. We have enjoyed getting to know our first ever farm dog – and you were an excellent one to learn from. Prayers for your family to heal quickly and completely. You will know when it’s time to send them a new farm dog to love. xoxo

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake and Mom

  7. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I’m not laughing about the heart rock. I would have it cleaned, mounted and framed in a “shadow box” with the best photo of Boomer.

  8. My heart aches for you Linda. I will miss hearing about your adventures sweet Boomer. Now you can run free with Fuzzy, baying at the top of your lungs. Enjoy your next adventure.

  9. Linda and Terry, I am so sorry. I know how difficult it is and how bad your heart hurts. Thank you for sharing Boomer with us all these years…we loved him too. Run free and find Fuzzy he is waiting for you Boomer.

  10. Dear Linda, my warmest thoughts and hugs to you, Terry and Mindy! Thank you for sharing stories about this wonderful, funny and friendly beagle on the blog. Boomer had so many friends all over the globe and most of all of course in your hearts. He had a good, good life with you on the farm.

  11. So sorry to hear of Boomer’s passing. I enjoyed his adventures and spirited life. I hope your memories (and heart rocks) will help you to feel better soon.

  12. Oh, Linda! My heart break for you and Terry. Although we all knew this was coming, it is still such a shock to the heart when it does. I am so sorry. We all got to know Boomer from your stories all these years and were enriched by them. Sweet Boomer.

  13. I’m so sorry, Linda. I know all too well how hard it is when a good dogger has to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I think Smoky will be along to say hi to Boomer, he’ll probably bring my other boys to say hi too. It seems this is a week for losses of those we love. I’m so glad Boomer sent you a heart rock, it’s a true precious treasure. Love to you and Terry.

  14. Dearest Linda and Terry

I cried this morning when I read of Boomer’s passing. I had so looked forward to meeting him (and getting to see his Mamma for the first time in a LONG time), but it was not to be. I’m so sorry.

God bless you with His peace dear ones. So glad he sent you that rock! He does things like that.

    All my love, Letha

  15. Linda, I cried when I read your post this morning, and couldn’t comment till now. All of us who have beloved pet members of our families feel your sadness. It’s so hard to say goodbye to them.

  16. I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers. But Boomer is just fine since he is on the other side, free from pain and troubles, waiting for you.

He didn’t take your heart with him because it still has work to do here.

  17. So sad but you and Terry certainly gave Boomer a wonderful loving life after finding him, if I recall, left on a roadside.
Stand proud for what you both did.

  18. So sorry for the loss of your special little buddy. I have this wonderful picture of Boomer and Fuzzy running through light-filled meadows, ears flapping, chasing good smells and each other.

  19. I’m very saddened to hear about Boomer. I know you will miss him, as will all of us. But even though you miss him you have wonderful memories of all his adventures. He is now out of pain and probably getting reacquainted with Fuzzy. Both of them are now watching over you.

Some people might be interested in the Black Mountain rescue lady. Donations could be made in grateful memory of Boomer to help other pets. It makes us feel like we are doing something.

  21. Oh Linda and Terry, Tears are falling as I write this. What a shock. I had no idea he was going to leave you so soon. I am in shock and so, so sad. Know that my heart is with you as you struggle to get through these days without that sweet Boomer by your side. I have endured the loss of many a pet and it just doesn’t get easier when our dear friends leave us behind. God bless you both and give you peace in these days.

  22. I am so sorry and this breaks my heart. Our furbabies steal our hearts but give us so much. I’m glad he is no longer suffering. Peace to you. Your friend in Texas

  24. I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Even though I have never met you or your precious Boomer I can’t seem to stop the tears since I read your emails this morning.
