Antelope love our pines and spruce we grow on the tree farm. The antelope are beautiful and the babies playing in the hay field is great entertainment. Hoping the 6’6″ fence will stop them from feasting on the trees.
We have been feeding ours…five doe, two fawns & a young buck with six, small points. We feed squirrels, grey foxes, a racoon & birds. We had a very sickly red fox coming by…then the poor thing died under Ken’s truck. Broke my heart. Our neighbor/attorney buried the poor thing on his ranch. He stated that it had been poisoned. He was angry. I cried.
Sam, the attorney, said that there are folks in town raising chickens. Foxes like chickens. Most folks are too stupid or too lazy to properly pen their chickens. They want them all free range…IN TOWN. A house around the corner had chickens in the front yard, un-penned and then wondered why the chickens were being killed or run over. Sam was cursing, calling them “dumbass communists.” This county is full of LGBTQ folks that think they can homestead in a SMALL town. They want to raise chickens but, destroy the wildlife.
I agree. Air-head people who fancy themselves as “farmers.” They know nothing. These are the same morons that think electric cars are better than gas powered. They charge their vehicles, for free in the town parking garage, hooked up to a diesel generator. 🤦♀️
Ah, ha! Ours are White Tail…smaller breed. They roam woodlands and stay close to our local river. They don’t get racks like yours. When I lived in Texas, the local deer weren’t much bigger than dogs.
Java Bean: “Antlers on the hoof! How come Mama and Dada never buy us antlers, Lulu?” Lulu: “Something about being too hard and breaking our teeth.” Java Bean: “But they look so soft!” Lulu: “So does a cat paw, but as we know, looks can be deceiving …”
goodness! Those antlers!

I wish we had mule deer here. We have whitetail and plenty of them. They tried to decimate our garden but we finally got control of it.

Ken looked at the photo and said…”That is too big to be a deer. Rack is too high.” Then, he said…”Our deer aren’t that big. The racks go up, not out.”
We do have smaller deer than yours.
