The Adventures of TLC Cai-Cai and Boo Berry —SCATTER— Chapter 12, Friday, October 14, 2022

“I want in—Don’t you TLC Cai-Cai?”

“Yeah.”

“I want in now!”

“Well, I think you are going to have to wait.” TLC Cai-Cai replied with all the wisdom of a cat.

“Why?  Where is Mom? Where is Dad?”

“Let me look” TLC Cai-Cai responded.  “Inside. Dad is inside.”

“I WANT IN NOW———HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

“Oh, hush! Mom is out here somewhere.  Dad is inside.  He doesn’t listen when you cry.”

BAM!

“WOW! What was THAT?!” Mom asked as she came around the corner with her wheelbarrow.

Suddenly Dad was at the back door.

“WHAT was THAT?” We all asked Dad.

“It sounded like a gun!” Mom exclaimed.

“It was—Dove season has begun. And our new neighbors are sighting in their guns.” Dad explained.

BAM!

“Oh, geez, Get in the house quick, Fur Kids…. guns and little animals don’t mix AT ALL!”

Mom opened the door.

You know the rest of the story—run inside and SCATTER to our favorite places to hide!

The Crush of Migration — Wednesday, October 12, 2022

Migrating is such a tiring bit of bird life.  This sweet little woodpecker is having a wee morning nap. (Click on the blue)

Later on in the day, I noticed this little bird, tail down, eyes closed.  At first, I thought it might be a hawk, but now I think it is just a tired bird resting.

You can click on the dashboard and see the amazing migration going on in your area.

Did you know that scientists have proven that birds can see

The Earth’s magnetic fields and this is how they migrate?!

Pretty neat, I do believe!

Grass Edged in Gold — Tuesday, October 11, 2022

As I stood watching the long grasses in the pasture (the Upper End)

The sun broke through the west’s low-lying clouds, lighting up a unique edge on a stem of grass!

Thank Heavens for cameras, otherwise, this beautiful experience would only be a memory.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Okay—Here is This Creature Again —- Wednesday, September 5, 2022

Okay— remember this creature from the other day

And no one (including myself) can seem to figure out what it is?

Well, here it is again.  I wish I could get a good photo, one that could identify it.

Here is a pig caught in our yard.  I only saw it once.

Not this! This is a Badger!!

Ahummmmmmmmmm and we know this one.

SKUNK!!!

Here is the badger

But this?!  I can’t figure it out–although, I think this is different than the one at the top

This one is easy to recognize

Here is a porcupine

Just a huge puzzle.

In the Middle of the Rain — Tuesday, October 4, 2022

It’s been raining for four days here. Not just sprinkles but RAIN

The good and the bad of rain.

Mushrooms are sprouting where none have grown before 🙂

Autumn has arrived.  (The above photos are from my archives —except for the mushroom 🙂  It’s really too wet to get out on the farm right now

Jason brought in our firewood from the hills. Enough for He and Shannon and Terry and I and Cliff and Kimberly!

Hey, Winter—we are getting super prepared!

Just say’n 🙂

Weather—and the Hay is Down, Monday, October 3, 2022

Wet cat

“It’s wet out there Mom!”

“Yes, Mom, WET!!!”

Sigh!

We just needed a couple more days of drying to get the hay in.

Farming.  Always a risk, where the weather is concerned.
