The weather people are telling us

We are in the very last days of Summer.

Any time now…any time

A visit from Jack Frost will arrive.

Bringing with it lots and lots of snow for the mountains

And hard killing frosts, causing our temperatures to drop from the high 60’s into the low 50’s

These are the last days of Summer glimmering in the clouds, the sky, and on the land.

It is the Way of Things—Thursday, October 10, 2019

The clouds were beautiful against the vivid green of the alfalfa just two days ago

So here are the moments, of the last few days, of summer/early fall

On we go into Indian Summer.   The memory of hot summer days dancing in our imaginations.

From my world to your heart,

On Wednesday of Last Week — Wednesday, October 10, 2018

The storm clouds lifted for a spell last Wednesday moving on to parts not here.

Since it was so wet, Terry said, “Let’s go to Ouray and soak in the hot pool!”

Off we went…looking at the amazing clouds, the mountains, this is the Sawtooth Mountains and the beautiful colors of Autumn

The sky was incredible (this is Ridgeway, Colorado)

Not a lot of traffic on the road

The pool wasn’t crowded …. so the soaking was perfect for two hours,

Then on the way home, a motorcycle passed us from Indiana

At the stop light, we saw what was traveling with the gentleman…his DOG!

Best Friends for Life!!

Two thumbs up to that man!

On a Ripe Autumn Day—Tuesday, October 10, 2017

We are using the woodstove for heat now.  It feels warm and rich and luxurious

I thought I would bring you up-to-date on our building project

The doors are up

The roof is on and most of the sides are up

We made it clear to this point before the cold insane wind came—complete with rain and huge sloppy snowflakes

Today is cold, but we will start again.  It’s almost done on the outside.  Then we can start work on the inside.

Curtains of a Chill Autumn Day—Monday, October 10, 2016

storm-coming-inA autumn storm played along the plateau yesterday.   Although the air was still warm enough to go without jackets.

snow-on-the-san-juansThe clouds covered the San Juan Mountain Range…the rugged peaks poking through the clouds show heavy snow in the tendrils of mist

red-cloudsAlthough our mornings comes later every day; the red sky is a beautiful promise of moisture yet to come.

sunshineAnd just for a spell, just before the clouds gathered and shoved their way toward us…the sky was just down right beautiful.

The nights come earlier and earlier now.

SNowStill it isn’t January…of which I give great Thanks!

Your friend,

Sundog and a Holding Pen Fence—Thursday, October 10, 2014

Change-on-FridayWe saw a sundog the other day…three days from the sighting of a sundog colder weather is coming.  Friday we should have colder weather…yep.  I looked on the weather channel and Friday we will be in the 60’s.

For my fence today I’m showing you Mr. Davis’ holding corral.  He uses this when he loads out the cows.

Holding-CorralIt’s all metal and hand welded.  I think its really pretty neat!

Well, head on over to Teresa’s place and link up your fences or gates.  If you don’t want to do that check out what the others have linked!

You friend,
