In the Soft, Soft Light of Spring — Tuesday, April 9, 2024

Monday was a beautiful day of early spring

So I spent it trying to get bird photos

Although, I saw a Robin

And a Western Meadowlark sang sweetly to me

I wasn’t able to get their photos!

Which is alright by me.  These little darlings are just perfect for a photo shoot.

The Red-Winged Blackbirds are continuing to gather — singing sweetly in the trees for a day of rest.  After which they leave us for the  Back Forty—which works.  I can always drive up there to see and hear them.

Spring is a time of sparkling excitement and soft gentle days!

What a joy!

While Out Farming —- Monday, April 8, 2024

While out farming I found a heart!  It was such a pretty little thing I brought home to hang out with me in the gardens.

Where We are With the Farming—Sunday, April 7, 2024

The plowing is all done!

All the plowed ground is now rolled—you have to smash all the plowed earth flat, the roller does that

The plowed and rolled ground is leveled—meaning fixing the ground so there are no humps, lumps or bumps in it so the water can go through from the top of the field all the way to the bottom of the field

All the grass fields and the alfalfa fields have been marked out ready for the water to start

Equines (not cows) are very hard on gated pipe—-we now have all the gated pipe repaired.

Getting closer to starting water on the farm.  Soon now.

Very soon!

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-NOW We are Outside 80% of the Time, Friday, April 5, 2024

Seems like there is always, always

Something to do outside!

Dad is always outside—sometimes in the farm yard, sometimes on the farm land

Mom is outside most of time

So we go with her! (and each other)

Mom says we are the bestest of helpers.  Always close to hand, always right where she is working

Mom says that way she doesn’t get lonely!

Burdens, There Really aren’t Any —- Tuesday, April 2, 2024

Nothing is really a burden.  It’s just a step to take—a time to process and ‘think through’ the problem.  Sometimes even wait for a spell.

As my mother would say to me [in the final days of her life]—just step back and wait, everything always works out for the best —- if you will just let it.

Burdens are nothing, but a wee bit of heavy for a spell.

That is all.

All Done for the Year—-Monday, April 1, 2024

Everything is plowed that is going to be plowed.

The plowing leaves the plow shears mirror bright and very sharp.

Earth teems with sights and textures, sounds and vibrations, smells and tastes, and electric and magnetic fields.  But everything can only tap into a small fraction of reality’s fullness.  – Ed Yong, and Immense World

I actually enjoy seeing them like this—-all bright and shiny and reflective!

Plowing—done for the year!

Moving onward—we go.

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Friday, March 29, 2024

It’s been cold here

Why just Wednesday, we woke up to fog and snow

Mom told me she loves FOG!

Me?

As long as my hunting doesn’t get slowed down—I don’t care WHAT we get!
