THE COWS HAVE COME!!!

Exciting for us!

Delightful for the cows!

And the rancher is happy too!

They will bring in a few at a time.  They are sorting out the keepers (they come here) and the spring’n heifers.  (First time to be having a baby, cow)

IT STARTED SNOWING Here!, Cold! Brrrr —- Tuesday, December 2, 2025

I changed my mind—- it’s snowing here….That photo was taken yesterday at about three.

BUT NOW!!!! Yep! It’s starting to snow!!!

Grand Mesa from a day or two ago

Sunset on the Paonia Mountain Range— I think they are called the West Elk Mountain Range (from my archives)

Those stunning San Juan Moutains taken in October (2024)

We drove up yesterday, onto the Uncompahgre Plateu (just behind us) and the snow was about here—this is from my archives.  I forgot to take a photo.

Surrounded by Mountains we are 🙂

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—- Sing a Song, Sing a Song, November 28, 2025

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLF!
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!

Mom and I were outside.  It was the dark time.

No Moon.

I had to pee….Yes, I did.

Suddenly, Mom and I heard

COYOTES!!!

They are back! (Click on the blue link to hear how they sound)

I sang back to them a little tiny bit, then they sounded closer.

Mom told me, “Boo, Stop That!  You aren’t big enough or strong enough to hold your own!”

Then she swooped down, grabbed me up, and took me into the house.

Shish!

Boo Berry Betty

P.S.  That is short for postscript.  Meaning I’m adding something else on to this:  TLC was already in the house.  Mom says he is no fool.

I wonder what she means by that?!

Distant Croak in the Distant Trees — Monday, 24, 2025

The crows live down at our daughter’s house.  They like this big tall cottonwood—always the last to lose its leaves and the last to get new leaves in spring.

I’ve been wanting the crows to come up here.  But they only fly through.

Sometimes they stop for a wee visit, but not long.

Maybe someday.  I keep inviting them.

(But I’ve heard that where Crows live, the hawks don’t.  I do rather enjoy our hawks.)
