After the Storm Tossed Sky — Thursday, May 20, 2021

We received no rain.

Clouds within clouds 🙂

Although, the sky was full of rain clouds and rain.

The rain that fell dried up before it could reach us.

We are that dry here.

Sometimes it happens that way.

The wind brings in a huge bundle of clouds,

Full of moisture.

You can even see the

rain chutes making their way to the earth.

Possibly even feel a drop or two on your skin

But that is all.

Still, the sky, the very air we breathe, even the plants on the earth

Feel refreshed in the dawn-touched world.

A Rare Day—Sunday, November 1, 2015

QYesterday was a rare day.

R

The breezes sighed through the corn, rustling the the dried tassels and the papery leaves, rubbing the stalks together with a soft rasping sound.

The pulse of the earth is slowing down, gradually cooling, settling in for a long winter’s nap.

PBut yesterday, just for a spell, the air warmed, jackets were not needed, the fire died in the woodstove, and joy filled the souls of all living and breathing things.  A reprevie, a warming back up…or at least a stopping of the cool down for an afternoon.

As the Chinese Proverb says:  “One joy will scatter a hundred sorrows.”  A warm afternoon was proof of that proverb.

Very much your friend,

Linda

Years ago I was a florist …I enjoyed working with the flowers and providing a bright spot in someone’s day.

This winter I started making fabric flowers — what a fun little hobby it has turned out to be.

Then on Friday I got a request to make a hat for a cancer patient…something fun, elegant, but not over the top and could be worn everyday, if necessary.

Hate-2

Here is the finale result.

First-Hat1

The lovely lady called yesterday delighted and so surprised with the hat.  She even cried.

My heart goes out to her, losing your hair is so hard, going through the treatments even harder, and staying positive, so you can heal, extremely difficult.

I am so glad this brought a tiny bit of happiness in her life.

What a Sunset We Had Last Night !!!

Sometimes the sky is amazingly beautiful…well it is always beautiful and perfect within itself, but sometimes it’s so pretty it takes my breath away.

Gradually the world started to get a rosy shade to it

The corn stalks even took on the pink hue

Then the sky

Blazing with color

Until I felt like I was surrounded

With flames of  gold and orange

I stayed outside the whole time the sun was setting

Which happens fast this time of year!

I just had to share with you…sometimes the sky really does speak!

The Music of Winter on the Land

Of course there is snow

And the wind howls

The roads become impassible

(Grand Mesa, Colorado December 2009)

But there is music

Something that really can’t be explained, but if you live, or work, or walk on the land you will understand.

For you will have experienced it.

Every environment, has its own music-its rhythms

Its flow, grace notes, and harmonies

It comes, I think, from your soul and a reaching out to the spirit of the land.
