The Gold Mountain Fire — Tuesday, July 21, 2026

We wanted to see how low the water was in the Ridgeway Dam.

It was full, and full of people enjoying themselves on the water.  But the big, big, big news

Is the Gold Mountain Fire.  It started in Ouray, has burned across all the mountains, now going up Owl Creek Pass in this photo.

The fire is close to the Silver Jack Reservoir and the town of Cimmaron.

The Ridgeary Fairgrounds are part of the area where the Fire Fighters are living, while they fight the fires.

There are other places closer to Ouray and past the Reservoir, where some of the firefighters are staying.

A helicopter coming in for water.

This is so sad.  So very sad.

My prayers are there for all of you who are experiencing the burning of our beautiful earth.

COME ON MONSOONS!!!

From my heart to your world,

Linda

Fall’s Cooling Touch—-Monday, September 26, 2016

The summer air has been cooled; then cooled again, from rain storms, which either move gently over us, or violent with thrashing winds and wicked electric storms.

owl-creek-pass-1Saturday we went with jeeping friends on a leisure ride, to Silverjack Reservoir and over Owl Creek Pass.

Then down we went to the other side.  The brilliant colors a joy to our eyes
