8:00 this morning saw much warmer temps than yesterday at the same time….

Still cold, but I’ll take it.

The dry, powdery snow is just about gone except in spots on the north side of things.

But we have snow in the high places

This a photo of Grand Mesa at the front of our place

The snow along the Craig Crest Ridge on Grand Mesa.  This part is closer to the Cedaredge, Eckert area.

The snow along Green Mountain and the Ragged’s.  I wasn’t able to get a photo of the Paonia Mountains or the Gunnison Mountains or the San Juan Range because of a haze covering those parts of the mountains surround us.

But the Uncompahgre Plateau was looking good, with a little snow ridge in the higher parts of the Plateau

The canyon, that our mesa tops off, is called the Roubidoux…

No snow there, unless you look way, way, way at the top where you can see a tiny white ridge of snow.

A good start for the potential of water for next year!

Linda

  1. Now I completely understand why you and my other Colorado friends are so interested in the weather and the snow! We sit and watch the clouds for hours, and the mountains change minute by minute. But you know that! We just love it here. It’s also fun to see things from your vantage point; we can’t see Grand Mesa very well here. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hi
That ouside temperature gauge is becoming very handy – ha ha.
Still too bloody cold for me, but far better than what it showed yesterday.
I should think that you are hoping for a lot more snow to appear on
those Colorado mountains? Fingers crossed, eh? Water is very precious
    for irrigating your crops.
    Cheers

  3. Hi Linda, I know you love seeing that snow on the mountains… I love seeing it there too–but not for the reasons you love it… I just love mountain snow pictures!!! I was sorta disappointed in the Rocky Mtn. National Park in September —-after seeing it in June of 2011, filled with SNOW… It was much prettier in 2011… ha

Still quite cool here but warmer today than yesterday… We’ll be in the 30’s-50’s this week…

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  4. I’m with gardenfreshtomatoes. WHAT a VIEW you have of some gorgeous mountains and mesas. Someday I’ll come visit. Some day. Snow here. Wet and sticky and white. Love it. Covers all the brown and cruddy stuff.

  5. Hi Linda, The views from your farm are simply amazing…Darkness finds us so early, but I don’t mind, the cold weather is a welcomed relief. I do see the teeny tiny patch of snow way yonder on the top of that last mountain…our snow is now gone…but not for long I am sure…Greetings, Julie.
