I have several hummingbirds this year…of course I’m having trouble getting photos of them, maybe I’ll make it.

So far we have regular visitors of the Black-chinned Hummers and the Ruby Throat  two pairs of each. I’ve also seen an Rufous, and an Anna’s pair, they are not here regularly, or at least when I’m outside I haven’t seen them regularly.

The types which are in Colorado are:
Broad-tailedRufousBlack-chinnedCalliopeBlue-throated,MagnificentAnna’sRuby-throatedBroad-billedWhite-eared, Green Violet-ear.

I sure hope I can see some of the others, maybe not at my feeders but around.

Then to get a photo…a good photo…MY Goal for the year!

Have a restful Sunday everyone!  We are off to watch grandchildren play soccer for the last time.  Summer break starts soon for the grand kids!

  1. I wish you every success in your goal. Hummers are hard, but rewarding. Such cool birds. I wish we had as many species as you folks do. I have never even seen any kind except ruby-throated. Only very, very rarely does any other sort come to our area.

  2. Be Patient and set your camera to ACTION and sit with a cold drink and snap away!!!! Love my Hummers that make it here year after year to have their wee ones 🙂

  3. Never have many hummers here but lots of other things. Little yellow warblers showed up yesterday and something I haven’t identified yet.
It’s just raining like nuts here. I’m wet, Gus is wet, everyone is wet, and MUDDY. I’m loving it!
Hope you had a nice soccer day!

  4. Beautiful photo, Linda. Love the lighting and reflections… I have 3 hummer feeders and have YET to catch a picture of any of the little guys either. They are too fast for me!!!!! ha

  5. I think you’re fortunate to have so many different hummingbird species around even if you don’t get a good picture. But of course a good picture would be great. Enjoy your Sunday.

  6. Patience for a hummer photo. I guess school ends for your kids pretty soon. we don’t close until the end of June and start late August.

  7. Wow, I didn’t know there were so many different kinds of humming birds! Next time I see one I’ll have to pay more attention. Good luck snapping a pic of one!

  8. Wow! Thats a lot of different Hummers!! They are crazy around here! Fighting and zinging by and making you duck! LOL We have Rufous and Anna’s havnt seen any others, around here. I laugh at the loud one that sounds like it has a wing out of tune! It buzzes! LOL

  9. Maybe if you hang a hummingbird feeder just outside a window you could snap a picture from within. They are a neat little creature– God loves variety doesn’t he. Hope you get your ‘goal’ ! Thanks for posting, always interesting.
