I really am not understanding this crazy warm weather we are having…70* yesterday with a wind out of the west.
Terry and I finished working on the fence around the place–it would not do to have cows moving beyond our farm, into someone else’s place or out on the road.
I also worked upstairs getting ready for company. Our kids and grandchildren are coming from Craig on Friday; they have a three day school break.
Plus it’s Tallin’s 7th Birthday! Tally wanted to come to Grammy’s and Grandpa’s for her birthday–‘because that is where we always celebrate our birthdays’ she said.
You know that has her Grandpa and I very pleased!
But back to this incredible light from the sky lately…one night we were surround in rose, then last night a golden light filtered through the wind driven clouds.
We loaded a trailer of hay as the sun started setting…during a break I rushed around taking photos to share with you. Rose to Gold sure is amazing.
We are concerned about this extremely warm weather we are having for February, it feels more like the second week in March. The skies (though) are showing colors of summer. There really isn’t anything we can do about it; just sit back and enjoy and trust that good will come for all.
Your friend on a Western Colorado Farm,
Linda
Lucky you two! Have a wonderful time, and… Best Wishes to your Birthday Girl 🙂

Much colder here then – that makes a change, eh?

It is a freaky change. Still I do like this nicer weather. Now I hope we don’t have late freezes that wipe out everything. Just like you experienced with your lovely lemons.

Amazing how the most wondrous of pleasures, watching Mother Nature do her thing, is also the easiest of all to enjoy; and it’s free for the taking.

It is free for the taking, we just need to pay attention!

Linda, the color of that sky is beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing. We had blue today, but I would love to have felt that golden light on my skin.

If you’re having too much warm weather, please send some of it (and those beautiful skies) this way. We’re expecting the coldest weather of the season later this week.

The wind is blowing here and it’s cooler than yesterday. Wind off the snow banks in the mountains always cool us down.

Beautiful skies, but I do understand your concern. The land needs its rest, its dormant season before it starts work again for the year, and a short winter with a late cold spell will mess things up properly. Fingers crossed.

I think another storm is due in here next Tuesday…rain and cooler temps.

It’s been crazy here too. I’m not complaining at this time. My tulips and daffodils are about 5 inches outta the ground. Plus other flowers coming. I hope we don’t get a killing frost in April! But then again, I don’t want bugs! Ha!

It has been as warm in Boulder County a couple of days recently as it is here in SW Florida. Weird. You have beautiful skies … And I’m glad you can appreciate them in spite of the worry about the too early spring.
And hooray for family birthday parties.

You’ve got the right idea. Enjoy the gorgeousness while it lasts. I say this while wearing 2 sweaters as we go from snow storm to ice storm to dangerous below zero wind hills for the weekend. Ugh. Enjoy the Valentine/birthday celebration!

Those sky pictures are sure beautiful! You are lucky, we are supposed to be down in the single digits for highs this weekend. Enjoy the weather.

Weird, weird warmness. But I’m not complaining as long has there is snow falling in the mountains.

Our spring always starts in February so this is my favorite time of the year. We never get your gorgeous skies though.

the weather here has also been milder than normal, it has and is still cold but the sun is out and the sky is blue. At night we get snow when the temps fall down really low. Your pictures are entralling, such wonderful colours and patterns. There is no doubt about it, nobody can paint the sky like God, Maestro Painter.
It is great that your grandkids want to spend time with you , not many do nowadays…I hope Tally will have a really lovely time. love to you all x

We have lots of fun things planned for the kids. Then after they leave Terry and I are exhausted for days…but it is all so worth it!
