The joy of these warm, spring days is such a blessing. Although,
When we had rain showers even the earth raises up and sings the praises of the changes of the seasons.
As we start water on each and every field the soil sings — even to the point you can smell the earth in jubilation.
“Listen–are you breathing just a little, and calling it a life?”
― Mary Oliver
So lift up your hearts and sing to the joy of the new seasons changing, where ever it is that your home abides.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
Thanks for a beautiful tribute to changing seasons.

Ahhhh Spring, my favorite season. You are right about the smell of the earth now, even the smell of balmy breezes (not for long here, though. We are expecting snow this weekend. Arrrrrrgh) The best thing about Spring is that Summer is still ahead of us. The earth is waking up and coming back to life and all our birds are rejoicing. Our pair of Sand Hill Cranes have wandered right next to our bedroom window looking for tasty food. Their call brought me straight out of bed this morning…..wow, are they loud. This is our reward for slogging through the endless Winter….just love it! You live in such a beautiful place with those great mountains.

The cottonwoods are throwing their cotton into the wind now. Apple blossoms are being replaced by foliage. The evenings are fragrant with the locusts and redwoods.

No cottonwoods won’t bloom here until June.

That would be even messier, to have all that fuzz blowing about while the weather is dry and warm! ICK!
