We have had rain!!!
Beautiful cool misty rain…although not long, nor in sheets of showers
But still, it is rain! Other places around us got more rain than we. But I will take whatever we get and feel a relief at that!
Even the little hummingbirds calmly rested on the flowers as the thunder rolled over-head
In the stillness after the storm(s) rolled through the little birds fed in the bright pearled mist
The earth not so wet we slipped as we walked along the ditch banks.
Still, the moisture in the air, the lack of smoke because of the rain was all bliss!

It’s wonderful that you got some rain — I hope you will get more. I also hope the areas around the wildfires got enough rain to do some good in controlling them.

Me too. We have gone from 23 wildfires in the state down to 9…now if we could just get to Zero that would be a very good thing.

I’m so happy you got some rain. We are just hoping the wind finally blows out the smoke after 4 days of being trapped inside. Maybe this afternoon it will get better here. I doubt we will see rain but so very glad you got even a bit.

I’m glad you got some precious rain!! I love those photos with the beautiful clouds and the grass reflecting in the water! Hopefully the areas where the fires are got some rain as well!! How I wish we could share some of ours with you!!!

I wish you could also. The fire behind us on the Plateau has now burned over 30,000 acres and is only 24% contained. 😦

Oh, a lack of smoke must be nice. I do not often mind smoke, but it has been ridiculous this year.

It’s been horrid…hopefully fall weather will start to get the fires under control.

This is what we used to say about the smog in the Santa Clara Valley . . . just before the stubble started burning in the orchards!

The fire is still burning…only 30% contained with over 30,000 acres consumed. Sure is sad.

Mine too! I grow them in memory of my maternal grandmother…they were her favorite.
