About Dayphoto

My name is Linda Brown. I live on a farm on the western slope of Colorado, in the high mountain desert. I’ve lived here all my life, hailing back four generations on my father’s side. Today I blog about our farm, the everyday activities that keep the farm going. I also write about my thoughts and dreams and goals. On Friday’s I always write about TLC Cai-Cai. Our sweet kitty who helps keep the farm safe. And Boo Berry Betty, a breeder dog learning to be a Farm Dog! The lovely thing about blogging it opens the world up for all of us to reach out and meet people from many different cultures and different ways of life. You can find me every day (but Saturday) at https://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com/ Your Friend on a Western Colorado Farm, Linda Brown

Precious Moments —- Monday, February 3, 2025

I don’t walk far out on the far in winter.  Especially, this winter—

It’s been a long winter—like you know first COVID for both Terry and I and then a knee to toes gout experience, followed by the most current flu,  or whatever is they are calling it—-

Then I managed to crack my rib on my right side at the very base of my rib cage.

So I’m not traveling far, but I get out and walk.

While out and about I look for a collection of things that gently gift to me precious memories.

After all—this earth is a huge delight and I want to enjoy each and every second I can.

The Bruising of the Land—- Sunday, February 2, 2025

Shadows looking like bruises—shimmering in the ice cold winter sun.

Wrapping our bodies and all structures in shafts of non-light creates shifting realities.

“Silently, like thoughts that come and go, the snowflakes fall, each one a gem.  The whitened air conceals all earthly space, and leaves to memory the space to fill.”–William Hamilton Gibson

The Dazzle at the End of the Day—-Thursday, January, 30, 2025

Although some could say there is emptiness in the last part of the day, I feel like the sunset brings all the fragments of the day together with a joyful shout of HAPPINESS!!

Now, onward to rest!

As the Day Tiptoes to Its End — Wednesday, January 29, 2025

This time of year the day doesn’t last long.

I feel the loss as it slips over my skin (brrr) and into my eyes

Valentily it shines—-as it nears the Uncompahgre Pleatue— winter is still here. The night will come soon.

At Noon or Just a Tad Later —- Tuesday, January 28, 2025

The air is at its warmest from noon until three in the afternoon. At that point, I like to ‘do’ things outside.

Sun and warmth—a very good thing!

May Joy be with you and remain with you every day!

Ah, Wind—The Bringer of Winter Storms and Cold Fronts, Thursday, January 23, 2025

It’s been cold here—just like it has been cold where you are.

Wintertime wind is the worst (to me) part of winter.  It seems to gallop through the trees causing the leaves still attached to rattle and shake—reminding us of summer past.

Brrr—it’s cold…But by tomorrow we are to warm up!

I am ready!
