About Dayphoto

My name is Linda Brown. I live on a farm on the western slope of Colorado, in the high mountain desert. I’ve lived here all my life, hailing back four generations on my father’s side. Today I blog about our farm, the everyday activities that keep the farm going. I also write about my thoughts and dreams and goals. On Friday’s I always write about TLC Cai-Cai. Our sweet kitty who helps keep the farm safe. And Boo Berry Betty, a breeder dog learning to be a Farm Dog! The lovely thing about blogging it opens the world up for all of us to reach out and meet people from many different cultures and different ways of life. You can find me every day (but Saturday) at https://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com/ Your Friend on a Western Colorado Farm, Linda Brown

Storms, Hay, Sigh — Tuesday, June 20, 2023

We are on the second field

 and it is the largest.

All Alfalfa—1,000 bales give or take.

Two more fields to go.

Rain, rain go away.

I am thankful you care about our area but go around us, please.

God(s) Gives Us Beauty— Monday, June, 19, 2023

Sweet little spirits

With wings transparent in the sunlight

Brightening the morning, the day, and the evening with songs and chatter everywhere

Glorious spots of color

Brightening the shadows.

What a huge gift Summer birds are to the eye, the heart, and the soul.

Rocky Mountain Bee Flower — Sunday, June 18, 2023

I found this Colorado native growing along the highway

In front of our farm.

Rocky Mountain Bee Plant!

It likes dry places to live.  And it has an extensive root.  Still, I think I might try to get some seeds and plant them with my Russian Sage…I think it is just beautiful.  And the bees love it.

The Essence of God(s) is Everywhere —- Wednesday, June 14, 2023

We can find God(s) in all the scattered pieces

All along the long and twisted trail,

We travel each day,

He is there on every side road we slip onto

There in the shadows lying softly on the land

The trick to “seeing’ is to not project what you are seeing

But “feel” what is being gifted to you.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

The Sky Color is Changing — Monday, June 12, 2023

Now that we are getting closer and closer to the Summer Solstice

The evening sky is starting to change color

No longer pink

Or purple

It’s changing into a lovely

YELLOW! The color of Summer!

Each Person Experiences the World in Different Ways — Sunday, June 11, 2023

Each Person Experiences the World in Different Ways—

the key is to live in harmony—as much as is humanly possible.

Even though some prefer living in a flock

There are others who gather only in spirit

There are those whom we meet that seem to shimmer with goodness and light

Yet we all are ruled by the same longings—to have a place to call home, family, a purpose

To fill the longings of one’s soul

To feel safe

With the freedom to experience many rich and varied things.

And to know that we

In our own special way

We brighten others’ lives

As they gift us back with treats from their hearts.

The trick to life–well to everything—

It too ‘see’ beyond what you think you are seeing.

To not limit yourself to what you expect to see, but what is really there.

From my heart to your world,

Linda
