Black Beauty is COOL!!!
(We think we should have some! TLC and Boo Berry)
It is HOT! Mom! HOT!
I NEED IN! MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
Hot isn’t too bad…I can do hot! I just hang in the shade.
What I can’t do is the wind!!!
Hot and WIND! I need in, also!
(We need rain…to settle the dust and to cool us down. It can rain anytime now, but come next week—no, rain—we will be cutting the alfalfa for the second time this year)
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
It has been busy, busy, busy around here
Busy enough I have to hide–
-because there is a tractor and a big truck involved
In and out of the yard
Trip after trip after trip
Three days worth
It was exhausting just trying to hide in the house from the big truck
And hiding from all the loud noise and big tires—exhausting!

Finally, Dad announced at lunch-LAST LOAD for the year, coming up
Mom said: “That was as hard as finally getting all the woodcut and moved.”
Done! Dad announced at the end of the third day! DONE!
Whew!
TLC and
Boo Berry YAY! DONE!
Hello. My name is Boo Berry Betty BROWN!

Mom says I get to tell MY story:
I have been here since June 14, 2022
It took me a long-time to understand what I am supposed to do.
My life before was babies. I was bred by my first breeder when I was 9 months old.
Then there were puppies.
Then a little break where I really missed my babies. BUT—
The boy dog took care of me missing my puppies and gave me more.
This went on for twice a year for two years.
Then—-I went to live with another breeder. A really nice man.
BUT—the story was the same.
Boy dog.
Puppies.
Boy dog
Puppies.
For a year and ½.
I lost my last two litters—–
My really nice man breeder asked my MOM!!!
YAY! MOM!!!
If she would like to take me home; he was retiring me.
YAY!
Now all that puppy stuff is over.
I have a new purpose in life:
Mom says I am no longer a kennel dog-I am a FARM DOG!
YAY ME!
Boo Berry Betty (my registered name) BROWN— My legal name!
But Mom and everyone just calls me Boo Berry!
Boo Berry
Mom says I, TLC Cai-Cai, can have a whole page to myself—to tell all of you, my story!
Mine!
Who I am and How I came to live on the farm!
At first, I did not know I lived on a farm. Because—well I did not.
I lived with Mommy.
But something terrible happened.
I didn’t even get to have all the proper time with Mommy when someone picked me up and threw me out-the-door.
I used to live with Mommy, we had food, and I had Mommy, and we played, and I learned about the potty box…everything was nice.
Then suddenly someone with big boots (I hate big boots; I scream and yell and try to kill big boots when I see them) booted me out the door.
I wandered around for a long time.
It was terribly scary and very, frightening. There were huge loud BIG things that went by me very fast I would try to run away, but I was too little to run fast.
This went on for a long-time. EONS! Forever!
Then a special thing happened.
My new OLDEST human sister found me walking in the parking lot where she parks to go to work…I meowed LOUD so she would see me.
And I walked toward her. Screaming all the time!
She saw me!
YAY!
I spent the rest of the very long day with my new BIG sister at her beauty salon getting held and petted by all sorts of nice people.
BUT I WAS HUNGRY!
I tried to tell my new person how hungry I was, but, well, I had to wait.
When we were on the way to my NEW MOM AND DAD, I screamed and yelled and cried because my tummy was terribly empty and I wanted some food.

As soon as my new Mom saw me, she opened a can of YUMMY soft cat food.
She gave me a tiny bit.
I ATE IT ALL GONE!

Then in a few minutes, I got another tiny bit.
Then I had to wait a few more minutes.

(It took me a little while because I had to eat a small amount then go play, come back eat some more until I got full.)
Once I got my tummy full, and I had a big play with my new felt bunny, I fell asleep and slept a long, long time.
When I woke up, I knew I was SAFE!

I had a small problem of needing to suck on something just before I got to sleep because I was weaned too soon. I was around 6-7 weeks old when I was tossed out to fend for myself.
But Mom bought me a special furry bunny, which I sucked on for a couple of weeks—then I stopped. Never to suck on anything ever again.
Mom and Dad call me TLC, (Terry and Linda’s Cat) TLC CAI-CAI (sounds like Kay-Kay).
I am a boy! A big tough strong BOY!
I like to do STUFF—I run through the house, I hide, and I try to get Boo Berry to play with me. (It never works)
I hang out with Dad on the farm—remember I am a big cat now!
An adult.
I like to stay outside all day long.
Then I come in as the sun starts to go down, to get yummy food and take a long, long nap.
I make sure I am with Mom everywhere she goes. (If she is outside).
And if she does not get me breakfast first thing in the morning, I TELL HER!
We have a very special understanding of things, Mom, and me.
Anyway.
Boo Berry Betty and I have a very unique relationship. I run at her and try to play, I jump on her and we chase each other, and we play hide-and-seek. Lots!
I do whatever I want in the house. And I do whatever I want outside—like eat the mice I kill. Yum
Anyway,
Life is WONDERFUL—
I am so glad to have Dad and Mom, and now Boo Berry!
P.S. Boo Berry came when I was about 3 ½ years old. She is smaller than me so I get to be the boss.
And Mom says that is enough. Boo Berry gets to tell her own story.
(And you can follow us every Friday while we tell fun happenings on the farm!)
TLC Cai-Cai
TLC for short 😊
Something is going on
We’ve talked about it, but we can’t figure out what
Seems like the work around here has increased
Like into over-drive increase
Mom has the house in a dust, sweep, vacuum, mop, shine, polish MESS
And Dad comes in on the tractor then leaves,
Then heads back out on the four-wheeler
They seem to be in over-drive
Then Mom is outside moving around in all her flowerbeds and mowing the lawn, etc. in a frenzy
It’s been hard to keep up with her.
I can’t keep up either. I heard Mom and Dad talking about something called
Graduation
And party. I heard the word party.
Yeah! Graduation and party here at the farm!
COMPANY!!! I better hide!
I guess I won’t. I’ll help Mom the best I can.
