Missing Mindy — Friday, July 30, 2021

I can’t find Mindy

She is missing.

She didn’t come in several nights ago for her “Mindy Time”

I can’t find her anywhere.

I’ve called, I walked the place looking for her

I put out a game camera

Trying to see if she shows up in any photos

I got this one on the 16th.

Then I moved the camera to here and got this one

But I’m not really sure it’s her.  We have a stray black cat that has shown up in the yard and it may be it.

Mindy Lou-Sue I miss you.

I hope you are alright

My heart is brimming with sadness.

The farmyard is silent in a sad and empty sort of way

I miss your wee little gifts

I miss you.

I wish I knew where you are, or what has happened to you.

I miss you, Mindy Lou-Sue, My Min-Min.

From my heart to your heart,

Linda

Why? — Thursday, July 29, 2021

“The voyage of discovery consists not of seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”–Marcel Proust

I have a snake (water snake) who lives in the hen house with the hens.  Randomly we (snake and I) scare each other.

Why would you tolerate a snake in the hen house, you ask?

This is why.

Snakes love to eat mice!

Way to go, Snake!

Flight — Wednesday, July 28, 2021

There in the air

So heavy

One would think it could never fly

Yet there it is…flying high in the sky

Before the Rain — Tuesday, July 27, 2021

Before the rain

That thing called WIND

stirred everything up

Spread the top of the soil

Here and there

And

Everywhere!

After the rain…the ending of a RAINBOW!!!

YAY!

A Sweet, Quiet Melody — Monday, July 26, 2021

Hello!

A wee, but perfect, little snack bar

OH!  Sharing with a Robin

Here, try this little bit I plucked out of the tray just for you—something light, bright, and oh, so sweet. 🙂

From my world to your heart,

The Sound of Corn —Sunday, 25, 2021

The corn is tasselling

The baby ears are forming

Summer, laughing softly, as time slowly slips toward Fall.

The song of Corn,

The Old Gods Live Here and There and Everywhere — Thursday, July 22, 2021

Sometimes I think to myself, that the Old Gods

Those awe-inspiring Gods of long-long-long ago

Are still here among us

Only we have different names for them now. (Like nature, wind, rain, etc.)

They are still here, flying with the birds in the air

Singing to our hearts and minds and souls in the morning

And in the evening.

They are in the sunlight,

And glittering off the tiny wings of Humming Birds

They gather in the most unlikely of places

They bring together the edges

Lifting up our hearts

When our hearts have tripped, or fallen slightly, or leaned a little too far here or there

Then the old Gods rebalance everything, even us.

That Brutal World We Live In — Wednesday, July 21, 2021

While out-and-about

I saw a coyote (from a distance) hanging out where the swather had been sitting and where the squirrels were playing.

He/she was sporting the Summer-fur look.

POUNCE!

A quick dash off.

Sigh!

I drove the four-wheeler over to the spot, to save the rest of the surry of squirrels, at least for a short while.

WOW! A Gift! —–Tuesday, July 20, 2021

This is so exciting!

A family of squirrels fell in love with the swather.

Their very own playground (for a spell, at least).

Third Field — Monday, July 19, 2021

Terry cut the third field of alfalfa…

Now we wait for it to dry.

Even though this field is just cut…it has been sold.
