Silence the Noisy Thoughts — Monday, December, 9, 2024

Silence the Noisy thoughts in your mind.  Step away from things that make you sad, or depressed. Or thoughts of anger or revenge.

Step outside, go for a walk or sit on a bench, or even your backstep.  Sit and be still–gradually the gift of peace will fill your soul.

I promise.

Sudden Natural Splendor of the Sky to the Earth —- Sunday, December 8, 2024

I was driving home when I looked at the sky and saw this amazing Sundog (a sign of cold, cold weather to come)

I hurried down the long drive way, parked the car and went around the west side of the house

(Much clearer than through a dirty car windshield 🙂 ) I raised my face, eyes, and camera to the sky and gave thanks for the personal enjoyment I always feel is a gift to humankind.

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Shadows, Friday, December 6, 2024

We haven’t seen our shadows for a while…but they are back!

TLC and I like Shadows.

Mom likes shadows more than I do.

TLC doesn’t like his shadow to be seen, but he does like to see the hawk’s or the owl’s shadow because that means HIDE!

The days are cold and dry, but they do warm up a tad around noon to three,

so Mom, TLC, and I go for a walk,

and Mom looks for Shadows!

Sepia — The Color of Winter —- Thursday, December 5, 2024

As I stated earlier sprigs of green still linger.  A bit of a burst of joy in the sepia world of winter.

However, we do warm up nicely (42*)  about 2 to 3:30 in the afternoon.  But until that time—it’s cold.  The wood fire feels wonderful.

THE COWS ARE HERE!!! —- Wednesday, December 4, 2024

The cows arrived just as the day started fading into the night

It’s always a huge delight when they come!

YAY!!!

The rancher will be bringing in more; only 43 arrived last night.

Winter—December is Always Winter (here) — Tuesday, December 3, 2024

Baby, it’s cold outside. Our nights are getting down into the teens now—14* one morning.

The sky turns purple just before the dark fills all the corners.

Winter—December through the end of February.

“Winter is ….a quiet house in lamplight, a bright stars in a clear night, the roar of the wood-burning stove.  It is warming the teapot. It is reading quietly. It is thick socks and the bundle of a cardigan.”—Katherine May

I Am Grateful for the Spots of Color We Still Have —Monday, December 2, 2024

It won’t be long now, until ever where I look things will be a shade of brown.  The grass is getting lighter and lighter all color leaving the stems. Oh well, ’tis the season, as they say.

While Walking with the Two Fur Kids — Sunday, December 1, 2024

We were out walking—Boo Berry

TL and I.

When I turned onto the bridge and looked back at the one lagging behind

TLC.  Just as the sun crested the cornfield and lit up our world.

Stunning.  Really!  Just stunning.

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—-Black FRIDAY, Friday, November 29, 2024

I wonder why they call it Black Friday.

It’s not very black today.  Actually, I’ve never really seen a BLACK day….some pretty dark nights, but never black truly.

When it’s night I wouldn’t call it black—pretty dark, but never Black.

I’m black, well, parts of me are.  There is a wild black kitty that lives somewhere here on the farm, but not a BLACK day.

Hoomans are soooooooooo strange!

And the Rains Came—Thursday, November 28, 2024

We had rain…lots and lots of the cold, dreary, life-giving stuff!

But our work never really slowed down—

We just changed to things that need to be done in the house and in the outbuildings.

One thing about all this cold rain (and snow flakes), the leaves are finally almost off all the trees and bushes.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ONE AND ALL!  You are a blessing to me!
