We are finishing up the the second cutting of the second field
One more field to cut, bale, stack, sell—
(We get three cutting per field a year)
In the middle of the haying now.

Not so long ago–we were enjoying days that lasted long, long, long
And now our days are shortening—
heading us closer to that time of little daylight
But for, right now, in August—we are experiencing heat! Oh, how I love Summer,
But, for the first time EVER!
The heat is doing me in.
Sigh!

“Boo Berry Betty,” Mom called.
“Come now. The hens need to get out and go scratch around.
Come On. Leave them alone.”
What?!?! Stop? I haven’t even started.
I’m just standing here in front of the chicken house, not doing anything.
“Boo Berry,” Mom swooped down and picked me up.
“No herding chickens until I tell you.”
Off we went to the sidewalk.
Then Mom put me down.
“Here you go. Stay around here and play.”
Then Mom went to mow the lawn and I
RAN TO THE HOUSE
BIG MOTORS SCARE ME
“IN MOM! IN!”
Whew, Thank Heavens.
In. Mom can do her thing WITHOUT ME!!!

“It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”–Paulo Coelho
The sun was just right…shining heavily in the west
When I noticed the absolute stillness of the herb garden
And the busy, busy, brisk, buzzing of a very wonderful bumble bee
As I stood still in this small enchanted place
I realized, sometimes sanctuary,
Is made up of peaceful sounds, the trilling of happy birds, a slight breeze,
and Color.
Creating an enchanting little place free from all the problems of other people; sharing in the obscure tiny lives of tiny little souls who live there.
From my world to your heart,
Linda
There is a time of day
Sometimes at the beginning of the day
Sometimes at the end of the day.
But always, always, no matter the ending or the beginning that special time is ephemeral, gradually perishing until only a memory.
( I really need to paint the house—sigh)

This is my friendly Red-Winged Blackbird
I fancy he likes to have his photo taken
This is one of the Robin families living by the equipment area
And this one lives in my herb garden
This Starling was trying to get into the hen house and have a snack of chicken food when I snapped this
Oh, yes…I do think you just might like your photo taken. 🙂
Ahhh! How could I forget? Yes, you also love your photo taken.
