The very last field is now planted with water started.  It will be alfalfa!

Look Closely— Monday, June 3, 2024

LADYBUGS!   Keeping the alfalfa free of pests!

Once the stems dry down the Lady Bugs fly away.  They come back after the plant gets a few leaves back on it.

Ain’t Nature Grand!

Time to cut hay!  it is starting to bloom!  When the hay just starts to bloom the protein content is the highest.

Our world smells like just mown hay.

Delicious!

Caught on the Game Camera —- Tuesday, May 28, 2024

I’ve been having a bit of a problem with the raccoons—so I put out a game camera to see what I could see–

No, raccoons, but a darling Mom and her little one moving through the farm as the full moon sang to Earth among the million stars dotting the dark blue sky.

So cute!  (They don’t eat my flowers (so far) I only plant things they don’t like.  Therefore, I get the thrill of tiny hoof prints in the soil.

The Rhythm of Spring— Sunday, May 26, 2024

In the soft, soft days of Spring—

The joy of making a nest casts a rhythm into each and every bird—

(from my archives)

Bringing to the earth a calm

(Killdeer nest-from my archives)

A subtle sense of joy, happiness, and completeness!

(from my archives)

(from my archives)

I love Spring.

From my world to your heart,
