The fire report says it has grown to —-way over 3,000 acres
And still growing.
Scary stuff.

This Mourning Dove watched me take out my camera—always watching as I snapped away, while it whirled through the air.
Eerily wonderful!

Rain! Beautiful! Wonderful! Rain!
It came to us in thick heavy fat clouds
Rain that left us with jagged jig-saw puzzles of puddles
The kind of rain we were desperately needing

There is a huge fire 12 miles from us—see the smoke haze in the horizon?
It’s sunny, hot, and very windy—not a help for the firefighters
It is a fire on the Uncompahgre Plateau
It’s called the Little Mesa Fire. 60 firefighters plus helicopters to dump water; all trying to contain the fire.
It was started by lightning.

We took some time off and drove up the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, always a special treat for Terry and I
While there, enjoying the river running through the canyon (this is where we get our irrigation water) I looked up to see the moon shining down on us in the daytime.

Later—caught by the game camera—over the fence into the corn and a whole herd of them.
I went out later to see if the corn was knocked over—nope, you would never know if the camera didn’t show us!
