Work Interrupted —- Thursday, June 22, 2017

After coming home from getting the last tire fixed.  Terry said:  “Call Cottonwood Hot Springs, get a reservation — and lets go there for the night.”

So I called…they had an opening.  Terry turned off the irrigation water.
Shannon agreed to take care of the cats and to take Boomer home with her to spend the night.

One afternoon, one night; then back home again.  A break from work!  How freshing it was!

A Whirlwind Weekend

What a weekend….Friday we took off for Buena Vista…we had an appointment there that had been made weeks in advance—

thinking we would take a short cut back home (and a different route) we thought we would go over Independence Pass into Aspen.

Let me tell you right here and now…never ever EVER go over Independence pass in the fall or the spring…they close it in the winter

The bottom of the pass says “If you are longer than so many feet do not attempt this pass”

I guess some people just can’t read.

This kind of driving is NOT FOR ME

The drive was beautiful snowwise, but not drivingwise, and I’m sure Aspen loved the snow.

For me…I was glad to get to DRY ground.

The next day we had to head off again!

Buena Vista and the Cottonwood Inn and Spa

Right after the Zip line tour we headed up to Buena Vista, Colorado.  The kids had given us two night stay at the Cottonwood Inn and Spa.  Because of the farm we thought we would do one stay in the summer and one this coming winter.

We went from extreme thrill to a haven of rejuvenation.

We had great food in Buena Vista, (the Inn doesn’t serve food) soaked and thought of nothing stressful, slept, got up soaked again. Then headed home.
