December Hurries Now — Thursday, December 18, 2025

(Day is breaking!)

Faster and Faster now—quickening like a spring melt stream

I must hurry and get my Christmas food under control, and finish cleaning my house….I have family coming.  All the girls and their partners, our two grandchildren serving in the military, and Tally, who is still at home, will be here.   Plus one more — Blade is bringing his girl—Karla!

It’s all so exciting!  And I’m feeling a tad rushed….and a little on the old side. 🙂

Merry Christmas, MY Friends—time is moving forward!

Yep–There is Still Green Out There, Thursday, December 28, 2023

There is plentiful Cheat Grass for when the Cows come—yummy greens to mix with the dried fodder.

And Hollyhocks, hiding in the leaves.

Come March, though, they will be brown and dried waiting for the signal to grow again.

Green is still here—gifting our eyes!

And Then, Yes, Now—Remember—-Wednesday, December 28, 2022

That God(s) is everywhere

And we can personally communicate our Thanks directly to his ear!

Cows! They Break up the Long Winter — Tuesday, December 28, 2021

These cows are such peaceful girls

They don’t mind if we move among them, checking fences, or watching for water issues

Cows!  The best part of winter!

Right up the with birds!

Glory B and T’Ata are free to roam the farm daily.

Come evening, one of us meets them at the back gate and

takes them into the corrals and the barn for their meal.

The cows don’t mind sharing.

Nor do they have trouble with the horses whispering secrets

To each other

Everyone content

Living here off the land.

Breathing—Pure and Adorable—Thursday, December 28, 2017

Our grandson is here.  Terry called and asked if Blade could come and stay for a spell.  Grandpa needed some extra help on the farm

So he came…all full of joy and cheer.  Willing to help dig up an old culvert and help Grandpa replace it with a new one

Willing to gather and load a feed bunk and help haul it down to the equines,

Willing to do all those super stressful things normally MY JOB!

Of course there were other things included, like an afternoon at the Rec Center playing basketball and swimming…

Going out to target practice with Grandpa for a spell,

Then this afternoon moving a cook stove to another place in town

And helping to do some welding …. a new thing to learn.

All farm boys need to know how to weld, Grandpa says.

Grandpa and Grandson…

I stand in the shadows watching them, listening to the warmth coming from two beings so much a like—each braced to meet the day and take whatever comes—

I stand watching—-

remembering—breathing.

From my world to your heart,

Linda
