Through a Day of Wintery Mix —- Thursday, February 14, VALENTINE’S DAY, 2019

First thing early Terry got out the tractor and blade and headed out to smooth up the lane and the farm roads.

The cows had made lots of nice little holes in the mud making going down the farm roads a little on the hard side.

And the long lane to highway had holes worn in it from the tires.

Then in the afternoon, the grey tumultuous clouds came rushing in, covering the Adobe Hills at the base of Grand Mesa

There is a beauty in the snow/rain/mix of those clouds only a photographic vision can express.

The girls had to come over to see what Terry was doing

So I took out treats to these bright rays of horse sunshine.

Glory B (her papers say her name is Blaze of Glory) and T’Ata two of the sweetest, fun to be around furry equines anyone could ask for.

You folks have a great day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Your friend on a western Colorado farm,

Linda

I Love Hearts in Nature—Sunday, Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2016

Heart-4I love looking for hearts in nature!  I look for them where ever I might find myself.

Heart-StoneWhen I find them it confirms that love always surrounds us—it’s up to us to ‘see’.

Love♥ comes from those we love, and from those who love us.

┊ ♥

But it also shows up in every single place we go. It waits for us…all we have to is look.

Bleeding-Heart-2Hearts are always there, whether we notice them or not.

The-HeartUndoubtedly there are hearts around you right now, too.

HeartNurturing love, through times of turmoil and transition.

It brings us to the next level of our lives.  As we climb each level, love awaits.

Moon-StoneNo matter which path in the road we take, no matter where we stroll, no matter what journey we are on.

Love is there, traveling with us, sometimes running ahead to wrap us in protection and care.

It’s up to us to see.  “All the windows of my heart I open to the day.”-— John Greenleaf Whittier once wrote.

Happy Valentine’s Day my Friends,

Love,

Linda

Hearts of Sweetness—Wednesday, February 3, 2016

Our children in Craig, Colorado, will be coming for Valentine’s Day.  Really they coming because it is a small break for their school district, and since all of them are in the school district in some form, they all get a break.

Hearts-2

(the pink are cinnamon, the blue is mint, the purple flavored raspberry, and the yellow is orange flavor.  So far everyone always pick pink and falls in love with it.  As a result they don’t try the other flavors/colors.  🙂  )

WE will get to see our grandchildren! (Oh, yes and their parents. tee hee)

It is also our youngest grandchild’s birthday that weekend.

So, with all this in mind, I decided I would make a huge selection of treats and goodies…perfect for snacking, or for a birthday celebration.

Hearts-1

And, of course, Valentine’s Day!  🙂

Roses-1

Tally’s name is Tallin Rose. Her birthday falls on February 15th…don’t you just know for every birthday, for the rest of her life, she will be gifted with hearts and roses?  🙂

To top it all off her favorite color is pink…preferably SPARKLY pink!  She makes me smile.

Very much your friend,

Linda

Sunday Stills—From the Heart

The Sunday Stills assignment this week is in honor of Valentine’s Day….  something from the heart.

When I was a child my Momma always decorated for Valentine’s Day.  And it seemed she was always the room mother in charge of this sweet and romantic holiday.  One year she created a castle out of cardboard boxes and poster board, then she decorated it with crepe paper and lace doilies and beautiful pink and read hearts.

This lovely castle sat on it it’s very own table at our tiny country school house (only 8 to 10 children where in my class from First Grade through the Sixth).  Into the slot at the top of the castle every child placed their Valentines…some were store bought (if your parents had money) but most were hand-made.

This lovely little castle has sat in my mind ever since.  Once in awhile I try to recreate it, but I always come up short.  I guess, for it to be correct, it needs her loving touch.

My valentine decorations aren’t as fancy as hers, but they make me feel ‘the spirit’.

Happy Sunday Stills Everyone!
