They’ve been planting around here for 3 weeks, but it looks like they’ll have to start irrigating this week. We didn’t get much rain in the last storm and all of February was sunny and dry.
It always amazes me how early you get out on the land. We have to let the frost come out of the ground first and then the soil has to warm up before seeds can germinate. The big fat buds look great.
π Is this earlier than last year? Daryl just asked if there was any news…I will definitely share this as he will want to know Terry is in the field already!! Daryl has been gone for 2 1/2 weeks running around the country with cattle. He hasnt said other areas are in the field yet.
YAY, out in the fields. Bet your hubby is oh so happy.

i always loved when the farmers would head into the fields in spring – even with the manure spreaders. π

There is just something about digging in the dirt, whether on a tractor or by hand, that brings hope.

I really like your perspective with these pictures. It’s always a good sign when field work can be started in the spring.
