“Embrace and love your body. It is the most amazing thing you will ever own.” Author Unknown
We started hauling our winter’s heat yesterday.
We only got one and a half cords. 4 and 1/2 to go.
Today I rest.
Well, not rest, exactly, but I will do other things: like weed, iron, and water— light work.
I need to wash windows, but it just isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
I also need to paint the inside and outside of the house. I’ve needed to do this since March.
Maybe in August. Maybe.
I will just have to wait and see. The firewood must come first.

Your firewood is warming you twice — once when you haul and split it and then again when you burn it. Take it easy when doing the hauling and splitting.

Oh you guys are starting the really hard work! Five cords is a lot… I am not even going to start thinking about wood yet.

It takes us a while to get the five cords we have to start early.

First, the necessities. Then, the niceties. And among the necessities of life I count taking a rest when the body asks for it.

I do, iron the last of the afternoon. So yes last.

Na…we just do what we HAVE to do anymore.

I know what you mean. Summer has so many chores that have to be done before winter comes. But like you, I have to rest between big jobs. That keeps us from breaking ourselves. 😉
