I love summer, idyllic warm (even hot) summer days.
I plan all fall, winter, and spring for this time, for summer.
The land is heavy as it nears harvest
The heat massive and somnolent
Butterflies and Hummingbirds sailing along in the warm air
The Bumblebees and Honeybees so heavy with pollen their buzz even sounds labored
Our August nights have now become mild,
a sweet chill on the air before the sun warms the sky—giving the earth a spectral look, As though the Otherworld is peaking through.
Summer, each and every day dazzles; my heart, my mind, and my eyes.
From my world to your heart,
Linda

Totally agree with your lovely words.

Summer can’t come quick enough for me – this here in Australia has been a most
peculiar winter and as it is August – the Antarctic winds are here.
Not good for my aging skin, I can assure you!
You sure have excellent green fingers.
Cheers

I’m not much of a hot weather person, but if that weather helps produce the lovely blossoms you’ve shown I’ll put up with it!

Your flowers are absolutely beautiful, Linda! Mine are all struggling as it has been to very hot and dry here. They prefer God’s watering rather than my hand watering! We had two cooler days (90&92) and they were heavenly!
Blessings!

WHITE!
Has it always been there, or did you actually find it in a nursery? When I saw it in San Luis Obispo in the 1980s, it was only white. Then, when I saw it in a few gardens in the Los Angeles region in the early 1990s, it was only in pink. I do not think that I have seen it since then. My colleague down south says that both white and pink are rare but still available from his sources if I want some.
