The remnants of Summer freeze-dried right on the trees, with that nasty storm last week. (As you can see the bright gold of Autumn barely started)
The moisture in the corn zipped down to harvest levels. Although our renters have not started harvesting on our place
The alfalfa fields are just starting to show signs of turning brown…it takes alfalfa a long time to lose its green color.
Moon and one star
The chill of winter already upon the land. Methinks we are in for a long, long winter.
Your friend on a western Colorado farm,
Linda
I keep hearing about a long cold winter.
Hope it doesn’t happen.

Methinks you are right about a long, long winter!! There is no fruit or nuts for the wild animals and all they do is graze and browse!! We started using our woodstove about three weeks ago and we keep the fire going during the day now. The best thing is the beautiful sun though not much heat is radiating from it. I haven’t had the sun wake me for months and this morning it was right on time!! Stay warm my friend!

If you’re going to have a long, long winter I hope it will bring a lot of snow (moisture) to your part of the country.

It sure feels like winter here now, too. I’m okay with that though ;-).

I’ve got freeze dried, brown tree leaves too. So far the last 2 storms haven’t blown them off… Long huh?

Isn’t it odd? It’s everywhere. What too killing of freeze, I guess.

We have some freezing temps then we get a false summer. I think you are right about a long winter though.

It’s terribly cold here at night, but we have warmed up to 60 in the afternoons.
