About Dayphoto

My name is Linda Brown. I live on a farm on the western slope of Colorado, in the high mountain desert. I’ve lived here all my life, hailing back four generations on my father’s side. Today I blog about our farm, the everyday activities that keep the farm going. I also write about my thoughts and dreams and goals. On Friday’s I always write about TLC Cai-Cai. Our sweet kitty who helps keep the farm safe. And Boo Berry Betty, a breeder dog learning to be a Farm Dog! The lovely thing about blogging it opens the world up for all of us to reach out and meet people from many different cultures and different ways of life. You can find me every day (but Saturday) at https://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com/ Your Friend on a Western Colorado Farm, Linda Brown

Distant Croak in the Distant Trees — Monday, 24, 2025

The crows live down at our daughter’s house.  They like this big tall cottonwood—always the last to lose its leaves and the last to get new leaves in spring.

I’ve been wanting the crows to come up here.  But they only fly through.

Sometimes they stop for a wee visit, but not long.

Maybe someday.  I keep inviting them.

(But I’ve heard that where Crows live, the hawks don’t.  I do rather enjoy our hawks.)

The Adventures of Boo Berry Betty and TLC Cai-Cai on Friday—- MOM! Come with US!!!, Friday, November 21, 2025

MOM!!!!! TLC yelled.

MOM!!! Boo Berry yelled.

“I’m here! I’m here!”  Mom replied.

“Let’s go for a walk!!” We pranced and danced around her.

“Walk? You want to go on a walk?” Mom asked us.

“Oh, yes!”

Boo Berry zoomed ahead.  TLC dashed right in behind her.

“Okay!  We are off!”

We exploded onto

the farm with Mom.

“Home again, Home again….whew! I need a nap!” TLC puffed

“Me too,” Boo Berry confirmed.

“Come in, kids, it is time to take a nap. Come in, Boo Berry”, Mom invited.

So in we went.

Happy, content. Satisfied!

TLC and Boo Berry

We were all staring at the sky.

That big, beautiful, amazing sky.

The Northern Lights!!  (aurora borealis).  I have only seen these once in my life, and I was probably around 10 when I saw them. Mom told us.
