WHAT! WOW! I Made it FIRST! —- Monday, October 19, 2020

As you know I love to feed the little wild creatures

fun little snacks they would never ever get

unless someone goes to the grocery store and buys them.

Usually,

it goes down like this —Stanely or Stewart or someone

from the Vacuum Cleaner family shows up—Cute little furry rodents with darling little faces

Sometimes, but not always, the Quail get there and can snarf up the remaining bits leaving a clean plate for everyone else.

But yesterday, the little chipmunk made it up there before everyone else.  He/she stood and his/her mouth flew open as is to say: WOW!

It was a perfect treat for Chipmunk and a perfect treat for me!

Sometimes My Heart Stops—-Sunday, October 18, 2020

When I’m out and about

Of course, I travel now without my darling little beagle

(Taken by a game camera in the yard)

And I always stop and stand very still, using my zoom lens

And he/she always dashes off when the click of the camera is heard.

But still—it takes a spell for my heart to slow down and I can move on.

Linda

That Most Magnificent of Hunters —Thursday, October 15, 2020

Sometimes, when out  watching the birds swooping and diving

I also see

That most

Magnificent of hunters

Searching, searching, searching,

Searching for dinner.  (I love seeing the shadow, also.) — I use a zoom lens.  Just so you know. 🙂

And Speaking of Changes — Wednesday, October 14, 2020

Soon it will be time for the “TIME CHANGE”, which is always a wrench in the cog-wheel of time

If you look closely you can see the school bus making its way, picking up children in the pre-dawn light.

When the time change comes along, this scene will switch.

Then a person can see the bus coming up the hill (instead of down) after dropping off children from school…heading back to the bus barn in the near-dark.

They really need to just let the time stay the correct time…it works ever so much better for everyone.

Just say’n.

It Froze Early Monday Morning — Tuesday, October 13, 2020

It’s the third time we had a killing frost

From this point on the temperatures will keep sliding down, down, down

I won’t show you the broken and blacked stalks of once beautiful

And lushly green things

Only those objects, which make up the beauty of Autumn

Although, I feel like this is a time when the earth is taking a deep breath

Busily gathering all its energy unto itself

Silently,

but obviously,

pulling everything inward

Singing to us

A beautiful, haunting good-bye

Song.

As the days go by.

From my world to your heart,

Linda

Each Passing Year Goes Faster and Faster — Monday, October 12, 2020

My inner-clock runs on the time

Of Spring, Summer, and Fall

A sort of energy level to match those three seasons…

Winter seems to last FOREVER and

goes on and on…a season as long as

Those three added together.

Like one great big long continuous season.

Because of that looming frozen time, I try to make the most of this one

Spending as many moments as possible enjoying the riot of color

And the fact I can still wear flip-flops without socks! 🙂

There in a Sudden Blaze — Sunday, October 11, 2020

Thursday, I was out and about looking for things of wonder

Watching the insects and bees, enjoying the beauty of the last flowers of the season—

Thinking to myself that Autumn/Fall is earth’s answer to the sky’s gift of rainbows

Checking the bee house (it’s filling up)

And the ladybug house—-nothing there.  I don’t really know how a LadyBug house works.

When I looked up into the sky and saw a Sun Dog!

A simple, but very {always} correct announcement, of colder weather coming in three days’ time.

The Adventures of Mindy on Friday, In the Quiet Light of Dawn, Friday, October 9, 2020

Boomer doesn’t go with Mom and me anymore.  He much rather be inside under the covers, resting

Although, he does come outside if the weather is warm.

So, now it is Mom and I…walking in the grey light of early morning.   The sky the color of grey and purple

Just Mom and I.  At first, I liked it when it was just Mom and me, but I must admit.  It feels a little lonely without that beaglie dog.

The Achingly Beautiful Melody of Life —- Thursday, October 8, 2020

The sounds of life

There in the sky, and the deep scurrying sounds of fear rushing through those who live on the land

The sounds rustling in the stillness, if you aren’t listening you can’t hear them

They are there as silent as thought,

From my world to your heart,

Linda

The Last Rays of the Sun —- Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Before I begin my post I want to thank Kate for showing me how to get back to Classic Editor on WordPress!  YAY!  THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH! KATE!

I love the last details of each and every day!

The stark shadows darkening the farm

The licks of gold and pink highlighting the beauty of the farm

The fiery sun covered in all the nasty smoke, from the tragedies, of all the forest fires

Sometimes the sky such a deep pink, it spreads amazement to all who look and ‘see’

Then gradually the sky grows cooler and the shadows deeper, the night air cooler, then the lights coming on in the house,

Good night, My Friends, Good Night.

From my world to your heart,

Linda
